Occurrence of nominate form also documented from Gujarat (Bhatt & Ganpule 2025, IB 21 (6): 162). However, intermediates and pekinensis birds are the birds reported regularly. Distribution: Winter: Very locally in select sites near Tal Chhapar (Rajasthan), Velavadar (Gujarat), Lonavla (Maharashtra), Rollapadu (Andhra), Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Munnar, (Kerala), and Tirunelveli (Tamil Nadu) – but throughout India during passage.
