    Distribution: Along the Himalaya from Kashmir, through Jammu, Himachal, Uttarakhand, adjoining Punjab and Haryana; N Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal, Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Cachar, Manipur, and Mizoram.

      Taxonomy: Includes pallidior Ticehurst 1927 from Shimla, Himachal.
      Distribution: Summer: Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand, N Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal, E Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Cachar, Manipur; disjunctly in C Indian highlands of E Madhya Pradesh, N Maharashtra and NE Ghats of E Chhattisgarh, SE Odisha, and NE Andhra. Winter: Throughout the N peninsula and NE India; NW Ghats till Goa, Telangana and sporadic further south in SE Karnataka. Absent in the coastal plains of SW India and SE India.
